These healthy smoothies perfect for meal replacement especially breakfast to boost up your day!
I love, love, love smoothies! I can’t say how much I love it until I try it as a meal replacement. One of the good things about smoothies that it’s full of nutritious fruits and vegetables combined together which can fill up your stomach without having a real meal. Let me tell you the first time I realize why smoothies are perfect for meal replacement.
One day I was so busy that I barely can get out from my chair. It was lunchtime, I told to myself that I don’t want to cook a meal (yes, I do this often.. talking to myself) and I just want to have something quick and easy to make that can fill me up until dinner time. I look inside my fridge and found bananas and cocoa powder then I decided to make a simple smoothie.
While I thought I need to focus until the end of the day, I decided to make a simple protein smoothie with a fruit that contains a good amount of potassium which is banana and since I crave for chocolate, I add a little bit of cocoa powder. Now you might think that this smoothie will be tasteless, nope, it’s not. It’s sweet because of the banana.
Then I drink it and go to work again. Just before dinner time, I realize that I don’t feel hungry at all. And again, thought to myself that smoothies are perfect for meal replacement!
When you have a busy day and don’t have time to cook, having smoothies prepared in your freezer is a good thing. Just pop a bag of prep smoothies into a blender and voila! You’ll get your breakfast/ lunch/ dinner ready in one go.
One tip you must remember that a good smoothie that can replace a meal needs to contain a good amount of potassium, protein or fat. When your smoothie contains these 3 ingredients, it will fill you up for 3-5 hours until next meal time.
